Digital X-Rays – Indianapolis, IN

Safe & Crystal-Clear Images of Your Smile

woman looking at radiography of teethAt Indianapolis Family Dentistry, we’re doing everything we can to provide modern, state-of-the-art care. One way we’re doing that is digital radiography. While radiography has been an essential part of dentistry for many years, traditional radiography doesn’t come close to producing the kinds of results possible with digital radiography. With digital X-rays in Indianapolis, IN, we more clearly identify your mouth’s internal and external structures. As a result, we accurately diagnose dental problems, which in turn leads to a more precise, detailed treatment plan. The benefits of digital radiography don’t stop there. With this revolutionary tool, we easily transfer the information we collect to a monitor, where you can study the images side-by-side with Dr. Farthing or Dr. Tepner. As a result, educating patients about their needs and treatment options is easier and more convenient than ever.

Greater Safety and Convenience with Digital Radiography

There are still more ways that digital radiography has improved on traditional radiography. For one, digital radiography doesn’t emit the level of radiation that its traditional counterpart did. When we take digital X-rays of your mouth, we place a small sensor in the mouth. This sensor captures detailed images comfortably, reducing radiation levels up to 80 percent.

In the past, we developed X-rays before they could be viewed, but today your results are viewed and annotated immediately on a nearby monitor. The development process has been excised completely. Our team no longer has to worry about exposure to harmful chemicals. Digital radiography is safer for them and safer for the environment as well.

Finally, your digital images can easily be stored for later reference. Often, X-rays need to be accessed for insurance purposes, referrals, or just basic patient education. Storing files digitally means we don’t need to have physical space for them in our dental office.
