To prepare your smile, a small amount of enamel will be removed from each tooth receiving a veneer. We’ll take a dental impression, and you’ll be fitted with temporaries. When your permanent veneers are completed, the dentist will bond them in place to revitalize your smile. In most cases, two or three visits are required to design and place porcelain veneers.
Minimal-Prep Veneers
Your dentist may suggest minimal-prep veneers if you don’t want enamel removed or would like the option to return to your original smile in the future. As the name implies, minimal-prep veneers require little or no manipulation of the tooth surface. They’re ultra-thin coverings that fit over teeth to correct flaws in shape and size. The veneers can be applied in one visit, and most patients don’t require numbing. Minimal-prep veneers aren’t right for every patient.
