Dr. Farthing has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years.
He received his undergraduate degree in chemistry in 1976 from
the University of Northern Colorado, as well as a secondary education
degree. Prior to entering dentistry, Dr. Farthing taught math and
science in the Denver area high schools. Dr. Farthing earned his
Doctorate of Dental Science from Indiana University in 1982, and
has practiced in Indianapolis ever since.

Dr. Tepner has been an active member of the Indiana
Dental Community for the past 20 years. He earned a Bachelor of Science
degree from Indiana University in 1976, and a Masters of Science
degree in Analytical Chemistry from Purdue University in 1978. Dr.
Tepner worked as an analytical chemist before returning to graduate
school to pursue a career in dentistry at Indiana University School
of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Science in
1984. As well as being on staff at Indiana University School of Dentistry
as a faculty practitioner, Dr. Tepner spent 12 years working in an
emergency dentistry focused practice before joining Dr. Farthing. |

Current Continuing Education
As well as their years of experience, Dr. Farthing and Dr. Tepner have
continued post-doctoral education to ensure they remain at the top of
their field. They have both completed courses in cosmetic dentistry focused
on bonding, veneers, posterior metal-free tooth-colored restorations,
aesthetic porcelain fused to crowns, and tooth whitening. They also have
received advanced training in root canal therapy, splint therapy to treat
tooth grinding, clenching and protection of remaining tooth structure.
Implant restoration, oral pathology and medical emergencies in the dental
office are other areas in which both doctors have furthered their skills
in addition to coursework specializing in provisional restorations and
dentures.
Both doctors are currently enrolled in a mini-residency in dental implants,
members of the Center for Advanced Professional Studies and are both
members in good standing with the American Dental Association, Indiana
Dental Association and Indianapolis District Dental Society.
Our Team
The team at our offices is also committed to the same principles
of professional excellence that drive Doctors Farthing and Tepner.
The first
and most important aspect of our team is they are kind and concerned
with every patient. Each team member receives ongoing training to continually
improve their skills and build competence to use the latest technologies
and equipment. Along with job specific training, each member of our
staff is CPR and OSHA certified.

Jennifer
Jennifer joined our staff in October of 2002. Prior to joining
our staff, she worked as a dental assistant for almost 10 years.
A graduate of the Walker Career Center at Warren, Jennifer is licensed
as a dental x-ray operator, and is CPR certified as well as annually
trained in OSHA requirements. Her warm charisma will assure a pleasant
visit to our office. Jennifer enjoys spending time with husband
Donald, family, friends and “Bailey”, her dog. |

Karen
Karen joined our staff in January of 1997. She enjoys working
with our patients. She looks at each detail of her job as an opportunity
to be of service. From scheduling appointments to working with
insurance companies, she endeavors to make the patients' experience
with our office as efficient and as pleasant as possible. In her
spare time, Karen enjoys church activities, camping, cooking and
spending time with her husband, children and friends. |

Emily
Emily graduated from Ivy Tech State College in Lafayette. She
joined our staff in July 2001. Emily is a licensed dental x-ray
operator, CPR certified and has annual OSHA training. She likes
the variety her job as an assistant has to offer. Emily enjoys
her free time with husband Cortney, their two beagles, family and
friends. |
